Great Expectations

Participating in public health efforts pays off. The WKU KPHA Chapter has great expectations for the 2010-2011 academic year after duplicating their Student Chapter Award recognition in an admirable fashion. Their student membership and ability to work together has and will continue to drive the student chapter toward successfully contributing to the Bowling Green community and the state of Kentucky by continuously participating in public health efforts. WKU Conducts Hypertension Screenings at KY State Fair

The WKU KPHA student members took time out of their summer weekend on August 20 to work with the State of Kentucky Health Department and interact with Kentucky residents and visitors at the 2010 Kentucky State Fair held in Louisville. A Hypertension screening booth was setup and provided by the State of Kentucky Health Department. Student members gained valuable insight that you can’t get from a textbook from various individuals who participated in the hypertension screening. Continue reading

The Smoke Free Coalition

WKU KPHA participated in its 3rd annual Smoke-Free Coalition event. Students volunteered with the Smoke-Free Coalition of Bowling Green and it was a success in promoting awareness for a smoke free community in Bowling Green. Continue reading
